I have been playing a tactical game for a year now and I was happy that it is going to have an anime adaptation by the middle or later of spring. As a game, it is a tactical role-playing game. It was really a good game and hooked me up for hours.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2, known in Japan as Devil Survivor 2, is a RPG for the Nintendo DS. It is a sequel to the 2009 Nintendo DS role-playing game Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. It was released in Japan on 28 July 2011 and in North America on February 28, 2012. And I must say that both of the games are really good and entertained me during the course of the game-play.
In the next anime announcement to be made, it’s been revealed in New type Ace magazine that a spring 2013 TV anime adaptation of the game Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 has been green lit. The animation will be produced by studio Bridge while the crew will be made up of Seiji Kishi (Persona 4) as director, Makoto Uezu (Is This A Zombie?) handling series composition and Kotaro Nakagawa (Code Geass) handling the music. It is said that the anime will be released by the fourth April.
Synopsis
Mysterious invaders called the Septentriones arrive in Japan and begin attacking the country on a Sunday. To fight back, the heroes in Devil Survivor 2 signed a pact with the devil to become the Thirteen Devil Messengers. The Septentriones show up at least once a day and you have a time limit of seven days to defeat them.
Full Trailer featuring the first five characters of the anime
Well, I am just excited over since it is already spring and I am itching to make a review of the anime. Well, I am not that critic but I really excited. I really am expecting great things from this anime since he director made a well hit anime called Persona 4.
Well, almost all of us in the internet are fans of Anime or Vocaloid. Who does not like them anyway? Yes we can say that there is few, but have you ever asked yourself if you're really SO OBSESSED in Anime? Do you consider yourself as an Otaku or are you the type of person that belongs to Weeaboos?
So what is an Otaku? What is a Weeaboo? What are their differences?Similarities between an Otaku to a Weeaboo?
A Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly (but not limited to) anime and manga. The term otaku is most often equivalent to a "geek". However, it can relate to a fan of any particular theme, topic, hobby or any form of entertainment. The term otaku can be applied to both males and females. People who are referred to as otaku are judged for their behaviors and people suddenly see an otaku as a person unable to relate to reality. In Japan there has been some negativity towards otaku and its culture.
A weeaboo is someone who loves to think that they can fit in with other Asians. Preferably, Japanese. What they don't understand is how fucked up they would look if they where to enter a normal Asian school or even walking the streets of an Asian city. Another aspect to weeaboo is the way they dress. They think adding random/colorful pieces of fabric and accessories is totally awesome. The only people who would think that it is would be another weeaboo. Another aspect is the way they use Japanese words. Examples like "Desu", "Kawaii", "Sugoi" and especially "Baka". There are other ones but they like to use them in their daily life and sometimes don't even know shit of the real meaning. To makes things short, a weeaboo is just a JAPANESE WANNABE but fail really badly at it.
Establishing distinctions between Otaku and Weeaboo can be kinda confusing, as both subcultures subscribe to a common set of interests (ex: anime/manga/gaming/cosplay) and share the social stigma of nurturing "unhealthy hobbyisms." but there are some obvious distinctions between the two.
Similarities:
Weeaboo and Otaku: Like Anime
Weeaboo and Otaku: Cosplay/Go to Anime Conventions
Weeaboo and Otaku: Have Figurines or Toys
Weeaboo and Otaku: Make fan arts
Differences between An Otaku and a Weeaboo:
Weeaboo: Can't be Asian.
Weeaboo: Say random Japanese words.
Weeaboo: Will try to look/act Japanese.
Weeaboo: Make up a Japanese sounding name for themselves.
Weeaboo: Think they know how to read/write Japanese and fuck up.
Weeaboo: Wear strange clothes in public.
Weeaboo: Will buy Japanese treats online or at stores (especially Pocky).
Weeaboo: Like to show off how stupid they look.
Otaku: Waste money on shit loads of anime stuff.
Otaku: Are often perverts.
Otaku: Like to keep things anime themed (such as avatars, signatures and desktop backgrounds).
Otaku: Mainly dress cosplay.
Otaku: Will make user names related to what they like (Example: HaruhiFan123).
Otaku: Have loads of anime on their hard drives.
Otaku: Like to discuss about their favorite animes/shows.
Otaku: Make AMV's and MAD's.
Me? If you want to know whether I am an otaku or a weeaboo, As of now, I am neither but I am aiming to an otaku where I could share my insights and interests in a normal way. :D
Well there you have it. Sometimes, it is really hard to distinguish an otaku from a weeaboo. But there is one thing that I have in mind. Both are happy in their interest and we should at least respect that. If there is one thing that I could relate a lesson that I got from watching anime, is that we should always have to give respect to others if we want to be respected by the others too.
Maouyuu Maou Yuusha or commonly called as Maoyuu is one of the great anime that i find these days. A Japanese Light Novel by Mamare Touno and has several manga adaptation. The anime adaptation was released last January 5, 2013 and so far has 10 Episodes including a special Episode. The series follows the exploits of a human hero and the queen of demons who joins forces to bring peace and prosperity to a war-torn world.
I've started compiling the lessons of the anime per episode and thought that I could give out a review since I am re-watching the first few episodes of the anime. If you want to learn what Lessons I picked out, you could go to these site or visit my other blog: Lessons of a Demon King and a Hero or to Thought for Today to read more articles.
Spoiler Alert!
The Story:
"We Need Education"
My first impression of the anime is that, this is going to be one of the anime that shows only love and a little bit of comedic humor, a little time waster for me since I don't watch too many romance themed anime (But I still watch some). But as I watch through the series, I suddenly realized something, Maoyuu shows a reality of humans in a sense that it had added some spice and some twist over what we think is normal. I mean, who wouldn't thought that one who will initiate the action to bring peace in a way that there will be a bloodshed will be a demon king? And to the top of that, the Demon King is the one that brings knowledge to the world of humans about a new livelihood.
What I loved about the anime is that, it emphasizes the necessity of education as a means to survive and to stop wars and disputes. On top of that, it also gives out lessons on life that we for sure can relate in one way or another.
The Characters:
One incapable of determining their own fate is an insect.
Though this anime whose characters' name doesn't matter is kinda new to me, I find it fit for the anime just using titles of their own like "Hero" "Demon King" "Head Maid" "Female Knight", etc. It feels like we are just narrating a story without proper names.
There are also some characters that doesn't go far on a traditional anime like a character with a lot of useless flesh, a cold character and a sort of "tsundere" type character. I find it entertaining that way. What I really admire is their own struggle to live and to bring a contribution towards the peace they are aiming. For a little fast paced development of the characters, I think that the viewers won't miss out any development from the characters' itself since it was being explained through the course of the air time.
Fan service? I never thought that there would be some but since I saw the Female protagonist with a little of a more useless meat, I was a little disappointed but amused at the same time for a reason unknown. Maybe I just got used looking at a bunch of unused meat that I find it rather normal and old thing. Well it's good thing that there are characters that can give of something funny in a serious themed story. :D
The Music:
The opening song for the anime is entitled "Mukai Kaze" by "Yohko" and the ending theme is also entitled with "Unknown Vision" by Akino Arai. I find these two song fit to be on the anime especially the ending theme that brings a little mystery and melancholic feeling. A good choice of Opening and Ending theme I say.
As for the OST, I tried searching for it but I guess not much is released of it yet. So we will have to wait for it to be available for review. :D
Overall:
Since I find the anime really entertaining, and I, at a little, could relate with the ideals present, I could recommend this anime to everyone. In rating, I think I could give out eight of 10. Why eight? There seems to lack on the anime on which I don't really know, in some point during the watch, I find it boring, but still the entertainment value is present especially since that the anime is nearing its climax and all we have to do is to wait what will transpire.
